When choosing a location for your wedding photos, light is an important factor. After all, the most beautiful photos are made with natural daylight. Of course there are a number of tools to make a room lighter, but that soon results in flashback or red eye. You naturally want to avoid that.

With a photo shoot on one of the boats or luxury sloops of Minerva Boat Company you get a beautiful natural light, and you benefit fully from the sun you get.

In addition to the light, the picturesque scenery of the River Leie region in and around Ghent provides a wonderful setting for the most beautiful wedding photos.

It is not uncommon for newlywed couples to switch to one of our boats for a photo shoot after the civil ceremony in the town hall of Ghent, with or without the immediate family.

Another option is to sail on with a Minerva boat or luxury sloop to one of the excellent restaurants along the route to start the actual wedding party there.

At Minerva Boat Company you can hire boats and luxury sloops for 4 to 12 people. You take the helm yourself. You are welcome to decorate the boat, but be careful not to use any decoration that gives off colour in contact with water, such as coloured paper and coloured roses.

To keep our boats and luxury sloops in perfect condition, we only ask you to respect a number of minimum agreements: no pets and no drunken captains or passengers. Swimming is prohibited.

Of course it’s allowed to bring food and drinks (in moderation) with you on the boats and luxury sloops. Be careful not to bring any oil-containing products.
